Prepare and defend against a disaster

These days we spend a lot of our time during the day in our cars. We drive to and from work and we take long trips in our cars. It is important to prepare an Emergency roadside Kit in case something is to happen while you are driving.

Most of us drive an average of 2-3 hours a day. Many different emergency situations can arise while driving your car. For this reason it is important that you have an car emergency kit in the trunk of your car or behind you seat.

Items you should have to have in your kit:

Jumper Cables

Bottles of Water

High Energy Snacks

Small Tool Set

Extra Blankets and Warm Clothing

When preparing to take a long trip in your car:

Bring some high energy snacks and a couple bottles of water.

Look at the weather forecasts before you leave and plan accordingly. If it is going to be cold dress warmly and have some extra blankets in your car emergency kit.

If it's going to be hot, have some more bottles of water with you to help you keep hydrated.

Avoid driving during severe weather, winter storms, or blizzards. Roads can become very icy and dangerous and your car can easily become stuck.

If your car is equipped with On-star, make sure that your know how to use it in case you have a roadside emergency. The On-star service can locate your car and send a tow truck or emergency services to you if needed.
